Trial & Error

It’s kinda sad the world doesn’t allow for trial and error anymore, it demands perfection. But in most cases even that isn’t enough. I know that for me trial and error is the only way to learn anything. I’ve learned that my first impressions are not always the best; and that without trying and trying again, you learn nothing.


Sadly enough some don’t even want to try. They are either paralyzed by fear or shear laziness or both. Life cannot be lived without connection; isolation only breeds an inward withdrawal that benefits no one. And, I should know because I’ve lived it.

I suppose what I’m saying here is, without at least trying, how are you ever going to know. Like what you’re good at or what makes your passions burn. A lot of people like the things, I for one write and do photography, two things which I love to do.

The thing is if you don’t work at it my passion for it will fade. Without learning or growing the talent or passion within you grows stale. So explore, be curious about life and about the world and don’t be afraid to fail.





It should be noted that I spelled trial - trail several times while working on this, just goes to show you. - FDT

Through the paper-thin walls of this old house, I can hear my neighbors getting ready for another day. Laying here remember when I used to do that, working at night so I could take care of the kids, while my wife went to work. Yesterday sorta marked a tipping point for me I suppose. Child in the Sixties & Seventies

A couple of posts ago, I mentioned being a child in the sixties. Well just today a dear friend of mine reminded me about some of the things we had to do back then (1972) compared to today's average 10 year old (2012).  First you have to understand we had no cell or smartphones, internet, personal computers, or digital anything. No music downloads, CD's, DVD's, Dish Network, cable TV, or VCR's. By '72 I think we finally got an ABC station giving us 4 TV stations to pick up by the rabbit ears (ask your Grandparents). Also, if I remember right, we got our first color TV around '72, a 19" portable Sears Brand TV.  But before you sit there and think, "God, what did you do all day?" Morning Rain.
